Bread and baked goods
For many people, a life without baked goods from the Fresh Food & Beverage Group is hard to imagine. The ever-popular “Krustenkranz” rolls, classic “Weggli” breakfast rolls, delicious butter brioche, crispy Ticinese bread, Black Forest gateau and elbow macaroni are among the nation’s favourites.

The butter brioche owes much of its charm to the fact that it is braided by hand, making it a true one-off. It takes the experienced FFB-bakers around 15 seconds to elegantly braid the two strands of a brioche. The FFB-Group brioche was officially crowned Switzerland’s best brioche by consumer magazine “Kassensturz”.
The Black Forest gateau is a film star. In the classic Swiss film “The Swissmakers” (“Die Schweizermacher”) directed by Rolf Lyssy (1978), Italian confectioner Francesco Grimolli (played by Claudio Caramaschi),who is seeking Swiss naturalisation, makes the gateau every day. This elegant Black Forest gateau remains one of the most popular cakes in our range to this day.

The five legendary Migros sales vehicles that served as mobile shops on the streets of Zurich in 1925 sold sugar, coffee, pasta, rice, coconut oil and soap. The small pasta assortment included noodles, spaghetti and elbow macaroni. A one-kilo pack cost 95 centimes at the time – and doesn’t cost much more than that today. In the present day, Migros sells around 1.5 million packs of classic elbow macaroni (M-Classic) every year. It is most commonly served with a meat sauce (“Ghackets”), baked with cheese (“Zigerhörnli”) or used in salads (“Hörnlisalat”).
More and more people are suffering from gluten intolerance. The FFB-Group has set up a manufacturing plant for gluten-free baked goods in Huttwil (Canton of Bern), so that gluten-intolerant adults and children can enjoy bread, rolls and sweet treats, too. Migros markets these products under the “aha!” label, while selected other businesses sell them under the “HUTTWILER glutenfree” label.
