Recipe
In a bowl, add the minced (ground) meat, cream cheese, salt and pepper and mix gently but thoroughly. Shape into small balls and place in an ovenproof dish.
For the sauce, finely chop the onion, the garlic cloves and the chili (optional). Heat the oil and add the onion, garlic and chili to the pan. Once the mix softens, add the tomato puree and heat through.
Loosen the sauce base with some stock before adding the passata. Taste and season as needed.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs. Dice the mozzarella and sprinkle over the meatball mix. Bake for 30 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 C.
Serve with pasta or the side dish of your choice.

125 g mozzarella
1 tbsp olive oil
100 ml stock
800 ml tomato passata
400 g pasta (or side of your choice)
