The foundation of today’s internationally active company was laid in 1958 in Courtepin, a village in western Switzerland.

Swiss Aquakulturen Birsfelden 

The Micarna Group founds Swiss Aquakulturen in Birsfelden and starts the reproduction and fattening of perch and whitefish.

Fusion of the Micarna Group 

The company Rudolf Schär AG is fused into the Micarna Group. In 2022, Tipesca SA is integrated into the subsidiary Mérat AG.
