March 18 is Global Recycling Day. On this day, we remind ourselves of the importance of protecting our environment and acting sustainably. Last year, we were able to recycle 84 percent more in Migros Industrie than in the previous year. The following measures made these optimizations possible:
- Optimization of collection points in the productions
- Training of employees on the subject of waste separation
- New plastic collections
- Waste analyses at various sites – this allows potential improvements to be worked out.
- Combination of transports of used and new cardboard – thus closing loops with the paper mill.
- Use of lighting made from recycled materials in the staff restaurant.
- Engagement of apprentices on the topic of closing the loop in project days.
